Better Brunei

Better Brunei provides Brunei private car enthusiasts with an opportunity to buy or rent a variety of cars. Its portal platform, mobile app, and social networks such as Facebook can provide users with the latest car resource information. To operate, connect to a local bank online, and users can receive their favorite car within a week. At the same time, Better Brunei provides a series of services such as online insurance, online emergency repairs, car wash, etc., in order to improve the user's interactive experience with the car, and authorize driver functions to give more protection to car safety. More than 100,000 Brunei Better users benefited from this project.

BETTER App was rated as the silver medal winner in the Mob-Ex Singapore 2017 Best Direct Response category and rich use of mobile technology.

How can we improve the process of buying or renting a car for Brunei auto users so that they spend less time and money to enjoy a better car experience?

Better Brunei is a company engaged in the rental and sale of private cars under the BIBD Bank of Brunei, and is also a long-term partner of NCS. In Brunei, there are many new car dealerships. But the process of buying a car is lengthy. It takes more than 2 weeks for a user to buy a brand new car to get the key, even if it is funded through a local bank. At the same time, most dealers have very little inventory in Brunei, and some vehicles do not have too many specifications.

People are more accustomed to getting a week's car rental service from those short-term car rental companies. Many people take this opportunity to pay a longer rent privately until they buy and get the car they need.

In order to make it easier for Brunei private car drivers to have a car at a reasonable price, Better Brunei proposed a usage-oriented business model, mainly providing flexible car rental/lease terms. Its mobile application platform can better advertise to the public, which is not only cost-effective, but also keeps people informed of the latest developments.

At the same time, the general App or website platform ensures to provide customers with cars of consistent standards and quality. The Better mobile application has changed the current interaction process, and has completely changed the way of information transmission and exchange between the workflow with customers and enterprises and stakeholders.

​Methodology

Through my communication and cooperation with customers, I conduct user research involving customer participation to understand the experience of designing rental cars, buying cars, and car use, and discovering people's problems and needs. During the development process, he worked closely with the sales and development teams to lead the user experience design. I mapped the existing experience, highlighted the needs, touch points, systems and pain points, and worked with stakeholders to identify opportunities throughout the journey.

I made all the prototypes and visual design guidelines, and tested them with stakeholders to ensure that our interaction and design can incubate viable and feasible products. Each iteration of the prototype improves the fidelity of the design-starting with low-detail sketches, to high-detail wireframes.

Based on the original brand image of the client company, optimize and update the brand of new products to keep the brand strategy consistent.

Interactive optimization

The functions and content to be read when buying or renting a car online are far beyond our expectations. In the first version of the interaction, in order to allow users to realize the entire purchase or rental process in only 3 steps, the amount of information on a single page will be overloaded. , The type of information is not clear, causing users to read too much information at one time and affecting their user experience. After several revisions, the 3 steps of buying or renting a car have been changed to 6 more precise steps. Each step reduces the amount of information, the information classification is clearer, and the default selection function is added to reduce the number of user clicks, making the user interaction process become More orderly, users are more aware of the entire purchase or rental process.

Better Brunei's new brand image applies to portal and mobile terminals. Based on the different interaction habits of iOS and Android on the mobile terminal, I designed two sets of consistent interaction interfaces to provide a friendly user experience for different systems. This is achieved through a comprehensive end-to-end service supported within the mobile application, enabling customers to access information very efficiently and ultimately make a decision to complete the transaction. This comprehensive mobile application provides information on a range of available car brands currently available for rental. It can compare and contrast selected models based on car specifications and loan terms/rent costs, so that customers can make the right decisions. At the same time, the portal side maintains brand consistency and adopts a responsive interface design to ensure that users who do not use devices have a good user experience.
